Nicole Tucker -  is an Inspector of Mines – Geotechnical with the Western Australian Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS).

With more than 15 years’ experience across mining operations, civil consulting and government regulation, she has worked extensively on geotechnical risk management, mine closure and tailings disposal across numerous commodities.

In her regulatory role, she undertakes audits and reviews of tailings storage facilities and geotechnical systems and contributes to guidance and industry engagement to improve practice. She has also supported Western Australia’s engagement with the Global Industry Tailings Review and has published on geotechnical and legislative aspects of mine closure.
